i can't believe i've been on xanga for almost five years.

i've had this thing for that long and haven't updated nearly as much as i should have. if it's been 1,765 days since i've had xanga, it means 1,765 potential times that i could've posted. i'm not going to count how many entries i have, but i'm guessing it's somewhere in the two hundreds.

i have decided that i'm going to try to write more often in this thing. i was thinking of converting over to blogspot (i even created an account and posted a couple times there), but the thought of changing blogs after being with one for almost five years saddens me.

xanga seems a bit childish, and definitely attracts a younger crowd... which must be the reason why i started one when i was sixteen. even though my blog is currently living in a shadow of it's former self, i can't help but coming back to it.

in the past, i allowed this blog to only scratch the surface of myself. real personal matters never went into it; i can count the number of private/protected posts on one hand. it's just that whenever i sit down to write an entry about what's going on deep inside, things get awkward so i'll open up a few tabs to check my e-mail, read up on how the cubs/bears/bulls are doing, do some fantasy research, and the next thing i know, i end up closing the browser forgetting that i had a blog entry in the works. it's not like i'm a private person either. i tell mostly everybody what's going on in my life, but for some reason i can't do it here, but i'll try.

as you all know, i used to go to depaul uni, finished up my freshman year, took a year off and left for korea. when i got back, i got bored. hell, i still am! i was so used to having fun, i never really got focused at the task at hand. because i left for a year, i lost my scholarship to depaul, and with depaul's soaring tuition it was something that i could not afford. i decided to transfer to uic, but missed the admissions deadline.

for this semester, i'm stuck at oakton. i hate it. i'm not going to go into why i hate it, but i just do. i submitted my application to uic for the spring semester, so hopefully that pans out. i'm just biding my time at oakton taking gen ed classes that transfer. as much as i hate oakton, it's been good because i'm still in the "omg, let's go play" mode. i've slowly been getting back into the mind of a student, but after a year of partying it's been hard to do so.

MLB 07: THE SHOW. BEST. BASEBALL. GAME. EVER. rented it from blockbuster and i've basically been playing it nonstop. my pitcher is already a potential hall of famer. sick, yet true.

the cubs are HOT HOT HOT right now, and the brewers are as COLD as the beer that they brew. hopefully these hot/cold streaks keep up so the cubs win the division. since my birthday is october 25th, the cubs winning the world series will be the greatest birthday present i will ever receive. when that day comes, i promise you that i will be on my knees bawling.

i still have to go see shoot 'em up. i hear it is melty good.

i'm behind in my readings. dammit, i hate school.
